The pharmaceutical companies, who fund politicians, are furious that smokers have found a substitute for tobacco smoking that does not involve buying their EXPENSIVE & INNEFECTIVE PRODUCTS.

Patches (that cause rashes), chewing gum (that gives you mouth ulcers) and "inhalators" that just don’t work.

Their true objection is that THEY do not hold the patent for electronic cigarettes.

Be aware, they will tell any lie, exploit any fear to protect their profits.
